This huge and majestic Buddha statue is one of the most famous landmarks in all of Phuket. Sitting at the top of the Nakkerd Hills and standing at 45 meters tall it is very difficult to miss. From the top of the hill you are able to get a panoramic view of Phuket and the offshore islands. When you are at the Buddha you will notice that it is very quiet apart from the sound of Dharma music and little temple bells chiming in the wind. The Buddha is made from white Burmese marble and sparkles elegantly in the sun. It is
possible to hike to Big Buddha from Karon Beach, although this is not a climb for the faint-hearted.
